The Mississippi Association of Student Councils is thrilled to launch the Mental Health and Wellness Initiative in collaboration with Work2BeWell (W2BW), a national program dedicated to supporting teen mental health and well-being.
Promoting wellness in schools plays a crucial role in enhancing students' sense of belonging and shaping a positive school environment. By encouraging emotional safety, inclusivity, and strong relationships, it helps create a supportive space for learning. This fosters a culture where students feel appreciated, heard, and prepared to navigate challenges, ultimately leading to better academic outcomes, healthier social interactions, and a more unified school community.
W2BW offers essential resources and education to empower teens, parents, and educators in prioritizing mental health. Through this partnership, MSASC aims to equip schools with valuable tools to foster wellness and encourage open discussions about mental health, helping to eliminate stigma. This initiative will enable students to cultivate a supportive and inclusive school environment where well-being remains a top priority.
Schools are encouraged to choose from the suggestions on our Roadmap to Wellness, which features monthly ideas for wellness activities that foster a stronger school climate.
Through the partnership with Work2BeWell, the following resources and opportunities are also available for implementing the MSASC Mental Health and Wellness Initiative.
By engaging in this initiative to promote ongoing student wellness, schools have the opportunity to receive the MSASC State Service Award during our Annual State Conference.
